Mission
The Zoning Advisory Council (ZAC) was formed in 1961 when New York City adopted a major amendment to the Zoning Resolution. ZAC was organized by architects, engineers, lawyers and planners/others, involved in the zoning and land use process, with the object to create a harmonious relationship with New York City agencies involved in the process. ZAC holds meetings with zoning officials of the City Planning Commission, City Council, Landmarks Commission, and Board of Standards and Appeals, to exchange information relevant to all parties.
