In 2018, an educational seminar was held on the topic of understanding the NYC Department of Buildings process of excluding Architects and Engineers from Limited Supervisory Check, Professional Certification programs and total exclusions from all filings.
Entitled, "The Zoning Advisory Council and AIA Brooklyn Present - Understanding Administrative Hearings and Protocol"
Eligible attendees were able to register and receive 2 learning units.
Contents included:
1. Understanding the NYC Dept. of Buildings process of excluding Architects and Engineers from Limited Supervisory Check, Professional Certification programs and total exclusions from all filings.
Panelists included include Raymond Mellon, Senior Partner, Zetlin & De Chiara LLP and Stuart Klein who have extensive experience in defending and representing architects, engineers and others in proceeding at the OATH.
2. Ian Rasmussen discussed the recent new requirements adopted by the Board of Standards and Appeals for filing applications. A light fare of snacks were also served. The cost of the event was $35.00. AIA Brooklyn will log in the learning units for AIA members. Non-members will be emailed a certificate of completion.
